Records & Report Requests
Motor vehicle crash reports and incident reports must be requested in person or by email, facsimile or by using the Norton Police Department Report Request Form. The form can be downloaded from the above link.
Massachusetts General Law allows the Norton Police Department ten (10) days to comply with this request.
Fees
There is no fee for a copy of an Incident Report, Motor Vehicle Accident Report or any other record unless, in accordance with Massachusetts Public Record Law, a record request requires more than 2 hours to complete, for which the fee will be an hourly rate equal to or less than the hourly rate attributed to the lowest paid employee who has the necessary skill to search, compile, segregate, redact or reproduce a record request. Only money order or bank checks will be accepted for fees. Please make all bank checks or money orders payable to the Town of Norton. No personal checks or cash will be accepted.
Motor Vehicle Accident Reports are accessible on BUYCRASH.COM for a convenience fee collected by BUYCRASH. Please make request through BUYCRASH.COM.

As a reminder you must complete and submit three copies of a Motor Vehicle Crash Operator Report. All three must have origional signatures. One goes to your insurance company, one gets mailed to the registry at: Registry of Motor Vehicles, Crash Records, P.O. Box 55889, Boston, MA, 20025-5889. One gets mailed to the Norton Police at: Norton Police Department, Attn: Records Administrator Michelle Goodwin, 82 East Main Street, Norton, MA, 02766.
