Highway / Cemetery Department

Mission
The mission of the Norton Highway Department is to provide Public Safety and to provide and maintain public services necessary for the growth and quality of life of the citizens of the Town of Norton.

Department Overview
The Highway Department consists of 10 employees and one seasonal employee responsible for maintaining streets, sidewalks, storm drains, town-owned cemeteries, and some town-owned grounds. The department is also responsible for caring for and maintaining town trees, snow and ice removal, and burials.    
                          
The department staff is also responsible for administrative duties, mechanics, and most Stormwater Management Program duties, as well as the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling operations on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.
