Active Employee Benefits
The Town of Norton offers several benefits to eligible employees. Please refer to your employment contract for the eligibility for your position. New employees have 30 days from their date of hire to enroll in the Town benefits. After the 30 days, all employees must wait until the open enrollment period in May, unless a qualifying event occurs.

Health Insurance
There are three Blue Cross Blue Shield plans offered.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Network Blue HMO
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Elect PPO
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Access Blue High Deductible w/ HSA
To enroll in any of the health insurance plans you will need to submit the following documents:
- Blue Cross Enrollment Form
- Health Insurance Affidavit
- Birth certificate for employee, spouse, and dependents
- Social Security number for employee, spouse, and dependents
The Access Blue High Deductible health insurance plan option comes with a Health Equity HSA account.

The pharmacy benefit manager for all of our Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans is CVS Caremark. Blue Cross members can access their Caremark online account directly through their MyBlue online portal. You will find the link to your Caremark account under the "My Medications" header at the top of your MyBlue account screen.

CANARX is a voluntary international mail order prescription program that is available to eligible employees, retirees and their dependents of the Southeastern Massachusetts Health Group. Vision Insurance
The vision plan offered is EyeMed.
Life Insurance
There are two Boston Mutual group life insurance policies offered at the time of hire. The open enrollment for life insurance is only every 3-4 years.
- Basic Plan - provides a $4,000 Death Benefit and a $4,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit. The Town pays 75% of the premium cost and the employee pays 25%.

- Voluntary Plan - provides coverage up to $400,000 and is available at the employee’s expense. Employees can also add additional policies for their spouse and/or children.

Flexible Spending & Dependent Care Accounts
Employees can elect to set aside pretax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket medical/dental expenses, prescription drug co-pays, and dependent care costs. Norton employees have the option of establishing an FSA through Cafeteria Plan Advisors (CPA). The open enrollment period for this benefit is mid-October to mid-November for the following calendar year.
