Annuity for Veterans who are 100% disabled

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Department of Veterans’ Services provide an annuity to 100% service-connected veterans. As part of the HERO Act, the annuity will be increasing from $2,000 to $2,500 over 2 years. Veterans will receive a payment of $1,250 in February of 2025. Starting in August of 2025, veterans will receive one annuity check per year of $2,500.

Who is eligible?

  • 100% service-connected disabled veterans
  • The surviving parents (Gold Star Parents)
  • The un-remarried spouses (Gold Star Wives or Husbands) of certain deceased veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country during war time
  • Each recipient has a separate application form

Application procedure:

To apply, you must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the time of the filing and also continue to reside in Massachusetts.  You must provide a copy of  your discharge papers (DD214), an award letter from the VA, and a W-9 form to verify your address.  For application forms and more information you can visit the website http://www.mass.gov/veterans/benefits-and-services/bonus/annuity.html or contact the Norton Veterans’ Services Office at 508-285-0274.
