Devco North America has expressed interest in taking ownership of the site. They are seeking to change the zoning from Industrial to Village Commercial in order to allow a mixed-use development with public amenities. The rezoning will be heard at the June 7 Town Meeting. The Town received a grant to produce the Phase II Assessment Report which will provide a comprehensive assessment of pollutants. We expect the assessment to be complete by Summer 2022.
This 20-acre site has the opportunity for a mixture of uses including retail, residential and recreational uses, which can take advantage of the beautiful views of the Rumford River. See a report done by Tufts University exploring redevelopment potential, here.
