Property Summary:

In 2017 the Conservation Commission acquired the former Camp Edith Read through a Self-Help Grant - Since then many improvements to the Lodge and premises have been made to promote and enhance the property and trail network for passive recreational use.

 

As such, in 2023 the Conservation Director, YMCA, Land Preservation Society and many local students and volunteers finalized trail network improvements for the community.

Norton Reservoir [ Pheeny's & Big Island]Reservoir Street / Mansfield Ave., Norton MA
Property Summary:

Since 1986 the Town of Norton has accumulated 480+ acres of open water and islands to be preserved for recreation and open space - the Town has made improvements to the Norton Reservoir Dam and is currently evaluating and investigating potential water access points for recreational use.

Property Summary:

The Town was gifted a 20+ acre wooded parcel in 1929, and with the help of the Local Youth Scouts manage and maintain the Town Forest to be used and preserved for recreation and open space.

In 2000 the Conservation Commission acquired 75 acres of open field, woodlands, and wetlands to be preserved for conservation and open space - Since then many improvements to the Picnic Areas and premises have been made to promote and enhance the property and trail network for passive recreational use.
