A Message from the Board of Health - Update on Norton's COVID Status

Good afternoon,

This is Christian Zahner, Health Agent for the Norton Board of Health. I wanted to reach out to you all regarding the recent uptick in Covid -19 Cases in Norton.

Today, the Norton Board of Health has been notified by the State that our Community Risk Level has been increased from Yellow to Red. What does that mean for us as a community?

Well, It means that indeed we do have an uptick in cases. It means that we need to stay vigilant and continue to take the easy steps that we all know that we can do like Social Distancing, face coverings, frequently wash our hands or use hand sanitizer, avoid large crowds, especially indoors, and if you are experiencing symptoms stay home.

I know that we are all experiencing some Covid fatigue. I get it; this is getting old. But it's not over, and we still have to do our part as a community to reduce the spread and protect our community and loved ones.

Saturday is Halloween. We ask that you enjoy your time with your children, Trick or Treating, and following the safety guidelines that I had mentioned earlier to reduce the spread. We also ask that you avoid having parties or large gatherings. These types of events are one of the leading causes of spreading the virus.

We still have a fairly long road ahead of us regarding beating this virus and getting back to a new normal. We’ve gone this far, and we have done so well. Let’s keep up the good work and continue to do the right things that we know that we can do. We’ve got this Norton!
