Town Department Review

The Building Department administers approval for work in SFHAs in accordance with the State's Building Codes (CMR 780 Chapter 1 Sections 114 and 115, which refer to M.G.L. c. 143, c. 148, and M.G.L. c. 148A, and specifically M.G.L. c. 143, section 94(a.)])

The Building Commissioner is the Local Floodplain Administrator.

The Conservation Commission administers approval for work in SFHAs in accordance with the Wetland Protection Act (See Bordering Land Subject to Flooding, pg 213)

The Planning Board administers a local Floodplain Overlay District for proposed land use development in SFHAs (See Article 8, Floodplain District - Zoning Bylaw)

The Assessor's Department maintains assessment records and market value information for properties and structures.
