Motorist charged after failing to Stop for Police

On Friday, March 26, 2021 at about 850p Ptlm. James Cameron was conducting speed enforcement on Eddy Street when a Ford pickup passed his location at a speed 20 M.P.H. above the posted speed limit.  When he activated his emergency lights and siren the vehicle failed to stop and proceeded to travel onto South Worcester Street, Parker Street, John Scott Boulevard, and then back onto Eddy Street heading toward Route 140.  At the end of Eddy Street the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign or negotiate the intersection with Route 140 and ran off the road.  It resumed moving and headed south on Route 140 (Norton Avenue in Taunton).  After a short distance into Taunton the vehicle came to a stop and the operator, identified as Gordon LINCOLN, age 22 of East Bridgewater, exited the vehicle, submitted to Ptlm. Cameron and was placed under arrest without further incident.  The Taunton Police had been advised of the situation and Norton Officers Rachel Mailloux and Ptlm. Christopher McCarthy arrived and assisted.  An adult male passenger was located in the vehicle and was not charged.
