Taunton woman arrested for drugs

On 12/31/2017, at 5:35pm, Norton Patrolman Jarrad Morse stopped a gray Toyota Camry on East Main Street due to the registered owner of the vehicle having a suspended driver’s license.  The operator, and owner, of the vehicle, Cassandra Baker, age 30, of Taunton, was subsequently placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license.  Per Department policy, officers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle prior to the vehicle being towed.  Officers found several drugs in pill form, along with paraphernalia consistent with use in drug distribution, which was seized as evidence.  More than twenty Amphetamine Salts pills were confiscated, as well as over twenty Gabapentin pills.  Other items seized included plastic bags, a digital scale, several pill bottles, two cell phones and $450 cash.

Baker was charged with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension, possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute (subsequent offense) and possession of a class E substance with intent to distribute (subsequent offense).  Baker was released on $500 bail and will appear in the Attleboro District Court on Tuesday, 1/2/2018.
