Subject charged with House breaks

Search Warrants recieved

On Wednesday August 22, 2018 at approximately 7:10pm, members of the Norton Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Taunton Avenue for a report of a past breaking and entering into the home.  Officers were investigating that breaking and entering when another call came into dispatch for a past breaking and entering on Charles Lane.  Officers responded to the area and based on surveillance video from that resident, officers had a description of a male suspect who attempted to break into that residence.  This male was believed to be the same male who had been responsible for numerous motor vehicle breaks that have occurred in the area of town over the last two weeks.  Massachusetts State Police K9s and a State Police helicopter also responded to the scene to assist.  Shortly after, Norton Patrolman Bryan King located a male fitting the description of the suspect in the area of 242 South Worcester Street.  While investigating the male, the male fled back into the woods behind 242 South Worcester Street.  The male was identified as John Constantino, age 30, from Mansfield.  Constantino had two outstanding felony arrest warrants.

After an additional search of the area, Constantino was located at the rear of a residence on Margaret Drive and placed under arrest for his warrants and was found to be in possession of stolen property.  He was charged with receiving stolen property by Norton Police.  Constantino was held overnight at the Norton Police Department and transported to Attleboro District Court on Thursday August 23 for his arraignment.

On August 23, 2018 Norton Police Detectives applied for, and were granted, two search warrants for a backpack and a residence on South Worcester Street.  Additional items were seized as a result of that investigation and Constantino will be charged in the future with additional charges.  Constantino is currently being held in jail.
