On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at 7:45pm, Norton Police and Fire personnel responded to Reservoir Street in the area of Birch Lane for a motor vehicle crash with possible injuries. Upon arrival, crews discovered a single motor vehicle with heavy front end damage and a broken utility pole. The vehicle was traveling north on Reservoir Street when it veered off the right side of the roadway and struck the utility pole. After impact, the vehicle spun around and came to rest facing south. The operator of the vehicle, a 19 year old female from Norton was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. National Grid responded to the scene to repair the damage to the utility pole. That area of Reservoir Street was closed while crews removed the vehicle and repaired damage to the utility pole. (As of 9:45pm, that area of Reservoir Street is still closed). The crash remains under investigation by Norton Patrolman Jesse Anderson.
