Fatal Motor vehicle crash

On Friday, 10/13/2017, at approximately 7:30pm, Norton Police and Fire responded to the area of 198 Bay Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Responding emergency personnel were notified that the crash involved a motorcycle.  Several motorists stopped to assist and were attempting to provide first aid to the operator of the motorcycle.  A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling on Bay Road, toward Easton, when it traveled off the roadway and struck a fence.  The operator, Paul Deluca, age 72, of Abington, was transported by the Norton Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died.  The crash is under investigation by Norton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.  That section of Bay Road was closed for approximately two hours during the incident.
