Route 123 corridor/495 Interchange Design Hearing 7/18/17

This is a State funded MassDOT project in partnership with the Town of Norton. Expected Construction in 2019. The purpose of this hearing was to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed East Main Street (Route 123) improvements from Pine Street to I-495 ramps and signalization of the I-495 ramps project. The proposed project consists of pavement rehabilitation, widening of the roadway to provide multi-modal accommodations for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists, safety improvements including new traffic signal systems at the I-495 Southbound ramps, I-495 Northbound ramps intersections, improved roadway geometry, and stormwater treatment upgrades to the existing closed drainage system.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Town of Norton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands.
