Man arrested for Drunk Driving

Cell phone caller leads to arrest

On 3/28/2017, at 10:52pm, Norton Police received a call from a witness, who stated she was following a white van traveling west on West Main Street that was being operated in an erratic manner.  A second caller reported that a white van had struck a railing in the parking lot of Emma's Pub on Mansfield Avenue several minutes earlier and fled the scene.  The second caller also reported that a license plate from the van was left at the scene.  The first caller was able to inform the dispatcher that the white van then had entered the driveway of the Norton Middle School on West Main Street.

Norton Patrolman James Cameron responded to the area and observed the white van at the entrance to the school.  He attempted to speak with the operator of the van, but had difficulty due to the operator's incoherency.  The operator was extremely uncooperative, refusing to speak to the officers .  The operator, Joseph Isaac, age 33, was placed under arrest by Ptlm. Cameron and Ptlm. Rachel Mailloux.

Isaac is charged by Norton Police with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, refusal to submit to a police officer and resisting arrest.  He will appear in the Attleboro District Court today, 3/29/2017.
