POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
On 9/30/09, at approximately 8:00pm, Norton Police responded to Norton Liquors, 92 Mansfield Avenue, for a report of an attempted robbery. The clerk at the store reported that a man described as a white male, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark colored "DS" baseball cap and jeans, entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk reported that the suspect then fled the store after a customer entered. The suspect struck the customer as he fled the store, causing a minor abrasion to the customer's arm. No weapons were shown and no cash was given to the suspect prior to his exit. The suspect then fled in a dark colored sedan that was parked along Mansfield Avenue approximately 100 yards south of the store. Police searched the area with negative results. The incident remains
under investigation by Norton Detectives.
