NORTON MAN ARRESTED IN ARMED ROBBERY
On 9/30/09, at 4:53pm, Norton Police responded to assist Mansfield P.D. at the intersection of South Main Street and Reservoir Street in Mansfield for a report of an armed robbery. The victim in Mansfield alleged that he was assaulted by two white males wearing black hooded sweatshirts and blue bandanas. The victim alleged that a handgun was shown by one of the males before the males fled.
A Rehoboth K-9 handler was requested and responded to the scene. The K-9 tracked the suspects to 250 Mansfield Avenue Lot#56. Additional officers from Norton, Mansfield, Attleboro, and Raynham were requested and responded to the area. A perimeter of the area was established and several nearby residences were evacuated.
At approximately 7:45 pm, police removed a male subject, Jonathan Brann, a resident of the home, age 28, from the residence and recovered a handgun. Brann was placed under arrest and transported to the Mansfield Police Department. The residence was searched for the second suspect with negative results. Residents were then allowed to return to their homes.
