Snow Storm related Crashes
The Norton Police Department responded to a total of nine motor vehicle accidents due to the recent storm.  Seven were reported on Saturday, 1/21, and two reported on Sunday, 1/22, as of 10:30am. 

 On Saturday, the first came in at 7:30am on Shelly Road where a vehicle had driven off the roadway into an embankment.  The vehicle was pulled back onto the roadway and was able to leave under its own power.  The same occurred at 8:14am in the area of 200 Bay Road and at 9:30am in the area of 299 East Main Street.

 At 10:00am on Saturday, a utility pole was struck on Leonard Street at 10am.  The vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival.  Verizon and National Grid responded to the scene and crews worked for several hours to repair the damaged pole. 

At 1:16pm, a single vehicle crash was reported at 113 Mansfield Avenue where a vehicle struck a guardrail.  Mansfield Fire Department assisted at the scene and treated the operator for minor injuries.  The victim was not transported.

At 1:47pm, a two vehicle crash was reported on Johnson Drive.  The vehicles slid on the icy roadway and struck head on.  No injuries were reported. 

At 5:04pm, a fence was struck at 100 Freeman Street and the vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival.

On Sunday, at 1:24am, a vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a tree on East Main Street near the Easton town line.  The Norton Fire Department treated the operator for minor injuries, but did not transport.

At 10:04am on Sunday, a two vehicle crash was reported at 147 West Main Street.  No injuries were reported.
