DRIVER CRASHES INTO POLICE CRUISER
On Saturday, January 30, 2010 at approximately 12:55 A.M., Ptlm. David Schepis was on patrol on Mansfield Ave. (Rt. 140) Ptlm. Schepis observed a vehicle pass his location being operated at a high rate of speed. Ptlm. Schepis attempted to stop a 2006 Saturn ION on Mansfield Ave.  This vehicle was being operated by Timothy Wall Jr., age 25, of Crane St., Norton.  Ptlm. Schepis estimated Wall's vehicle to be travelling at speeds in excess of 70 MPH.  This are is posted at 40 MPH.

 Ptlm. Schepis illuminated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop and continued South on Rt. 140 at a high rate of speed.  After a brief pursuit Wall's vehicle pulled over in the area of #16 Mansfield Avenue (Rt. 140).

 While positioned behind Wall's vehicle,  Ptlm. Schepis observed the vehicles’ reverse lights illuminate and the vehicle began to speed backwards violently  striking Ptlm. Schepis's cruiser.  Ptlm. Schepis was still inside of his police cruiser. Wall's vehicle left 20 feet of skid marks on the pavement before coming to final rest against Ptlm. Schepis's cruiser.  Ptlm. Schepis was able to exit his cruiser, and order Wall out of the vehicle.  Wall was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest. 

 Wall was transported to the Norton Police Station, were he was released on bail by a clerk-magistrate. Wall will be arraigned on Monday February 1st, 2010 at 9am at the Attleboro District Court.

 Timothy Wall was charged with:

 Operating under the Influence of Alcohol – 2nd Offense

Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon (Motor Vehicle)

Assault and Batter on a Police Officer

Malicious Damage over $250

Reckless operation of a Motor Vehicle

Speeding

Failure to stop for a police Officer

 Ptlm. Schepis later went to Sturdy Memorial Hospital were he was treated and released for minor injuries. Ptlm. Schepis will be out of work for several days. The Norton Police cruiser had significant front end damage.
