On Friday, 5/22/09, at approximately 1:25 am, Norton Police were dispatched to the L.G. Nourse School at 38 Plain St. for an alarm. Upon arrival Ptlm. James Franco and David Ruskey conducted a check of the exterior of the building. Ptlm. Franco observed a subject later identified as Erik McCormick (age 17 from 48 South Washington St. Norton) attempting to jump out of the building through a window.
Ptlm. Franco observed McCormick to be carrying a laptop computer and a small tool kit. McCormick was ordered to the ground where he was taken into custody.
McCormick was transported to the Norton Police Station were he was charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime to commit a Felony, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Larceny over $250 and Malicious Destruction of Property over $250.
McCormick will be arraigned in Taunton District Court.
